Nearly 4,000 Canadians die by suicide every year, causing a vast wave of devastation amongst family, friends and colleagues who struggle in the aftermath. Distress Centre Niagara plays an integral role in working to prevent such tragedies. In recognition of World Suicide Prevention Day and of all those whom we have lost, please join us on SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 10, 2017 at Market Square in downtown St. Catharines Ontario. Registration to start at 6:00pm.
All proceeds raised from this event will support Distress Centre Niagara’s 24-hour crisis phone line. In 2016, volunteer crisis workers responded to a total of 14,269 calls and logged over 7,140 volunteer hours. The Walk will honour those who we have lost to suicide, as well as their loved ones who continue their daily lives as survivors.
