Nearly 4,000 Canadians die by suicide every year, causing a vast wave of devastation amongst family, friends and colleagues who struggle in the aftermath. Distress Centre Niagara plays an integral role in working to prevent such tragedies. In recognition of World Suicide Prevention Day and of all those whom we have lost, please join us on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2016 at Fireman’s Park in Niagara Falls Ontario.
All proceeds raised from this event will support Distress Centre Niagara’s 24-hour crisis phone line. In 2015, volunteer crisis workers responded to a total of 15,366 calls and logged over 11,810 volunteer hours. The Walk will honour those who we have lost to suicide, as well as their loved ones who continue their daily lives as survivors.
